What is Perpetual Futures?
Perpetual futures, also known as “Perps,” are derivative contracts with no expiration date. They enable traders to speculate on the underlying asset's price for an unlimited period.
What are perpetual contracts, and how do they differ from traditional futures?
Unlike traditional contracts that expire on a certain date, perpetual contracts have no expiration date, allowing you to hold them as long as you meet the margin requirements.
The key difference is how they're priced. Perpetual contracts stay close to the actual asset’s price using a funding rate mechanism, while traditional contracts can move away from the asset’s price as they approach their expiration.
Which assets can be used as margin?
Currently, only USDT can be used as margin. Additional tokens will be supported in the future.
What is the funding rate?
The funding rate is a periodic payment exchanged between the long and short positions based on the difference between the perpetual contract price and the spot price. It helps keep the contract price in line with the spot price.
What is the maximum leverage available on CoinList?
Leverage is adjusted on a sliding scale, up to a maximum of 5x. Leverage cannot be manually adjusted.
Is demo trading available?
Currently, demo accounts are not available for perpetual trading.
Is isolated margin available?
No, we currently only offer cross-margin trading. Isolated margin is not available at this time.
Do you offer portfolio margining?
Yes, we offer portfolio margining, which allows you to optimize margin requirements across multiple positions within your portfolio.
Is there a minimum order size?
Yes, the minimum order size depends on the type of contract:
BTC: 0.0001
ETH: 0.0001
FIL: 0.0001
SOL: 0.0001
Be sure to review the minimums before placing an order.
How can I track my PnL?
